Junaid KC is a Sociocultural Anthropologist, Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Mountain Tourism and Hospitality Studies, H.N.B Garhwal Central University. He holds Master’s degrees in both Tourism Management and Anthropology from Pondicherry University. His primary research interests encompass Tourism Carrying Capacity, Entrepreneurship in tourism/hospitality, Community-driven tourism planning, and Human Resource Development (HRD) in the Tourism sector. He possesses specialized expertise in ethnography and netnographic techniques, and his doctoral research focused on ‘Tourism and Hospitality Education/Training/HRD in the Malabar region of Kerala’. Junaid KC has a good publication record, with several research papers published in Scopus, Web of Science, UGC Care II Listed, and peer-reviewed indexed journals. He has also actively presented his research findings at numerous international and national level conferences and seminars.

Beyond his academic contributions, Junaid KC is the Managing Editor of 'Himalyan Tourism' Magazine and a proud Member of the World Leisure Organization (WLO) and the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE).

Furthermore, he is also co-founder of Pupuzo (www.pupuzo.com), a social initiative committed to working on accessible tourism sectors. Pupuzo's mission centers on creating welcoming and enriching environments for both local residents and visitors. The organization aims for inclusivity, striving to make travel and tourism a universally enriching experience. Pupuzo is also deeply invested in empower rural tourism stakeholders to achieve sustainable livlihood. And committed to ensuring that travel and tourism are accessible to all individuals, regardless of physical or intellectual limitations, disabilities, or age.
